Hobie Porter 2 Day Hinterland Painting Workshop – Byron Bay Hinterland NSW Australia

Dates: November 10th & 11th 2018

Venue:  Private retreat in the Byron Bay Hinterland

Preferred Medium: Oil on canvas

Australia’s most easterly point boasts bejeweled beaches framing a rainbow-hued town bouncing with cafes and visitors. Whilst Byron Bay is a tourist draw-card, the real gems are its heritage hinterland villages with their historic shop-fronts, artisan foods and patchwork of macadamia orchards, rainforests and dairy farms that surround them. It’s the ideal locale for a Vivid Tours International art retreat and promises premium rejuvenation and artistic outpourings. Rolling velvety, green hills seduce you to switch off your smart-thing and grab your brush, pencil or clay.

Take home more technical skills and deeper artistic expression, you will  go home from Vivid’s Byron Bay residential art workshop with more colour and aliveness, not just on your canvas, but also in your soul. Your technical skills have been sharpened and your artistic expression is well oiled.

During this 2-day landscape painting workshop in the Byron Bay hinterland, Hobie will focus on a structured & layered oil painting process in distinct stages from beginning to end. You will explore colour and tonal analysis and gain a deeper understanding of landscape painting techniques.

“It is the connections that one forms between self and environment that enriches the landscape painting experience. The transaction that takes place embeds itself into our lives and a successful painting reminds us of that engagement”. Hobie Porter
